Today:

Literacy Week Activities:  Today we enjoyed stories by Dr Seuss and participated in the whole school Drop Everything And Read sessions.  

During math we subtracted 2 digit numbers.  Ask me if I tried to answer the easy or hard number sentences.

Team 72 worked really hard to finish writing their instructions.

During word work we learned how to edit our work to look for mistakes and fix them.  We can edit our writing for punctuation, spaces and power words spelled correctly.

We read to self and read to someone today.  What kind of books do you like to read?  Fiction or Non-Fiction? Stories or True Facts

Drumfit with Mrs Quilley and Mrs McBride is Awesome!

During social studies we talked about weather and jobs in the Atlantic and Prairie communities.

Blog Question:  What tools do you use at home to measure how long or tall or heavy something is?

Tomorrow’s Class Leader: Liam (bring something to share with us that is small and could fit inside Ms MacMillan’s Egg and have 2 clues ready to help us guess what is inside)

Tuesday with Team 72!

Dear Children and Families,

A friendly reminder that payment and forms are due tomorrow, Wednesday May 31, for the Zoo field trip.  Payments can be made on your ‘MyCBE Account’ on the Cranston’s homepage.  Thank you kindly!

Today:

Team 72 had reading today. We read to ourselves and read with others. 

Team 72 went on laptops today and were able to practice their reading skills on Raz Kids and their math skills on Mathletics.

In writing, we worked on our First, Then, Next and Last stories in our visual journal.  We worked really hard today!

Team 72 had drum fit today in gym.  Please share what you did today J

Team 72 visited the Book Fair today.  We made a wish list of books we are interested in reading.  We put the wish list in our bags for our parents to see.  We are encouraged to bring our parents to the book fair if we want to purchase a book.

In science, we watched a Magic School Bus video called, ‘In the Arctic’.  Share with your parents how the students kept warm in the Arctic.  We are going to learn how penguins keep warm when we go to the zoo next Monday.

Ms. MacMillan will see you for the rest of the week. Ms. Collins will see next Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesday class leader is Grayden.  Please bring in something that will fit in our egg and think of two clues to share with the class. J

Crazy Hair Day! Robert Munsch! Learning Commons!

Reminders:

-    Today was the last day of book exchange for the school year.  Learning Common book are due back June 7.  Late books are due back ASAP.

Today:

Team 72 had reading today. We read to ourselves and read with others.  We also listened to two Robert Munsch books today!

We went to the Learning Commons and exchanged books for the last time this school year.

We had our special guest, Mrs. Jessica, visit us today.  We reviewed all of our books we read so far.  We were asked to choose our favorite one and write about why it was our favorite one and drew a picture.  Mrs. Jessica was happy to see we filled our jar half way!  Team 72 is working towards filling our jar with rocks by being ‘bucket fillers’ in the classroom.  When we fill our jar Ms. Handelsman will come into the classroom and introduce the new school robot to the class.  This is what the class voted for!!  Keep up the good work Team 72J

In math we continued to practice our adding, subtracting and place value skills.

Busy Friday with Team 72!

Dear Children and Families,

Team 72 will be going to the Calgary Zoo for another field trip on Monday June 5.  Field trip forms went home today.  Thank you again to all the parent volunteers!  There is a payment of $7.00 to cover the cost of this field trip.  Parents can pay online using ‘MyCBE Account’ on Cranston’s homepage.  Please return forms and make your payment by Wednesday May 31. Thank youJ

Today:

Team 72 had gym outside today.  Please share the new equipment you were playing with.
In Math, we did math centres.  We were practicing our subtracting, adding, and place value skills.  Ms. Collins worked with students one on one today.

Team 72 did writing today.  We started a visual journal page about what we did and learned in our Floating and Boating program at Telus Spark.

Team 72 went to a sharing assembly today.  It was a grade 3 class sharing their learning experience at Science School.
