Tree Cookies - NOT to eat :)

Great Work Preparing For Our Arbor Day Celebration This Week!!!

Arbor Day Celebration
Team 72 is very excited to be one of the classes presenting at the Arbor Day Celebration on May 4th.  Our school will be the recipient of a Siberian Larch Tree from the City of Calgary in honour of Arbor Day and it will be planted on our grounds during a special ceremony in the afternoon.  Unfortunately due to fire regulations we will not be allowed to have our families join us at the 1 pm assembly.  We will be presenting our assembly for you at 6:05 pm in the evening.  After our presentation you will be welcomed to our room to see more of our learning about trees, and then you are free to walk around the school to see what the other students have learned too.

Reminders:

During music we practiced our Arbor Day songs with our Team 75 Buddies today. We are starting to sound like a really great choir!

We worked together to put together a Team 72 imovie to share our learning about Trees Across Canada.  Ms MacMillan will put the final touches on it and it will be ready to share on Arbor Day.

We created special Arbor Day Medals to symbolize the special message we are sharing next Thursday.  We made them using tree cookies.  Ask me what a tree cookie is.

Ms Collins will be with the students Monday and Tuesday. See you Wednesday!

We read to self and read to someone.  We practiced reading out loud to our partner to sound like real talking.  Good readers sound like normal talking so they can understand the words.

We are working with Ms Handlesman to create imovies to share tree facts with Cranston School staff, students and families.  Today we took photos, selected photos and cropped them to create the background for our movies.

In math we played the number sandwhich game and had to write number sentences too!

Ask me about gym and music.

Blog Question:  What do you know about subtraction?
