Monday with Team 72!

Dear Children and Families,

Today:

We did reading today.  We read with ourselves and read to someone else.

This week Power Words:  would,  could,  then,  than

We had gym and music today.  Please share what you did today.

In Math, we wrote Making 10’s strategy and doubles strategy in our workbooks.  Practice all the ways you make ten by adding two single digit numbers together.

In writing, we worked on our step-by-step directions on how we are going to build our forts.

In Science, we worked on making a materials list for our forts.  Share with your parents what you are going to need to build your model fort.

Reading Minutes Today: 25 minutes

Ms. Collins is away tomorrow.  There will be a guest teacher. J  Ms. MacMillan will see you Wednesday and Thursday J

Tuesday class leader is Xander.  Remember to bring a stuffie to share with the class.

During math we solved an everyday problem about the number of cameras we will need to take with us when we go on our next community walk. Check out the amazing work being done by the Team 72 mathematicians...

Thursday with Team 72

Dear Children and Families,

Reminders:  

-HOME READING

-Half Day tomorrow.

-Hungry Kids!  Many of us are all hungry as we arrive at school in the morning.  Please make sure you are eating a healthy breakfast to give you energy to start the day.  Please send extra healthy snacks to help you get through the day.

-NO TOYS at school unless you are the class leader bringing something to share.

-Family Dance tonight for those who have purchased tickets

We jumped into a non-fiction book.  We read a true fact book about Canada and wrote fun facts about Alberta.

In word work we wrote words we know in the at, it and all families.

In math we used our Chisenbop strategy to help us add.  Ask me to press the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

We cooperated and skipped together in gym.

During social studies we looked for signs of nature in the Cranston community.

Blog Question:  How does caring for nature help the people of Cranston be happy and healthy?

In math we learned a new counting strategy called CHISENBOP.  Grab a dice and ask me to show you how I can press some numbers.

During Social Studies we shared our community maps. We are going to find out about the different kinds of nature in our community tomorrow.
