Today:

We started our day doing our spelling centres. 

We completed most of our science projects.  Those who presented got to take theirs home.

This week Power Words:  here,  look,  saw,  did.

We had Club Friday today!! Share with your parents what you did today.  This was the last session for this club.  Students will start their second club in the new year.

We had body breaks and listened to a few stories today!

Ms. Collins will see you Tuesday after the break and Ms. Macmillan will see you for the rest of the week. J

-It’s COLD!!!!! Dress warm every day with snowpants, boots, jackets, hats and mitts!

Today:

We had a visit from Baby Thomas.

We started our day with spelling centres.

We read to self and read to someone.

During writing we jumped into a book!  We talked about visualizing what is happening using our 5 Senses.

In word work we played the Making Words game. We used the letters i e g g s t b to spell words.

In math we sorted, made patterns, counted, matched numbers and words, played war and put together a number puzzle during centres. 

We sang Christmas Carols in the gym and said Goodbye to Mrs Jones, she is retiring and we are really going to miss her!

We shared what we know about our family in social studies. 

Tomorrow’s Class Leader: Retaj (remember to bring a picture or photo to share!)

Mrs Collins will be with the children tomorrow.  Have a safe and relaxing break, see you all in 2017!

Team 72 meets a new friend

Dear Children and Families,

Today:

We practiced reading to self and reading to someone.

We sang Christmas Carols together in the gym.

We met a new friend named Roland today.  He will be joining our class after the winter break.

In writing we created thinking caps to help us think while we are reading and writing.  Ask me what mine looks like. 

In word work we used the letters t t b h s u a to make words. 

In math we played a game called 7 UP. Ask me why this is going to help me learn about making 10 and adding.

Ask me what I did during music and phys ed.

We listened to a story called The Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown.

We talked about very important people in Social Studies today.  Us!  We shared our stories with each other and began some writing.

Tomorrow’s Class Leader: Declan (remember to bring a picture to share.  A photograph or a picture you have drawn yourself)

Today:

We sang carols in the gym. 

In science, we finished our projects and started working on our presentations!  We will finish the presentations on Friday and we can take them home J  Students who presented today were able to take them home.

We had gym today.  We played a fun Christmas game using scooters!

In writing, we read the book, ‘The Peace Book’, by Todd Parr.  We all thought about ways we can light up the world peacefully during the winter holidays.
