Math Night Tonight!

Dear Children and Families,

POWER WORDS:    have,   my,    our,    see,    what
-Remember to read your home reading book or use Raz-Kids tonight.  Good readers practice every day!
-School Photo orders are due
-Math Night tonight! 5-6pm or 6:30-7:30pm
-Book Fair open this evening
-Halloween Howler Family Dance tomorrow night
-Club Friday, first club visit this week.

Today:

In reading we read to someone (a partner or a book buddy), then read to self.

We listened to a book about patterns called Vroom Vroom, Beep Beep by Staurt J Murphey.

In writing we had free choice writing time while Ms MacMillan had writers meetings.  We met in small groups and used a target board to check our work. Our writing needed to include sentences that matched our pictures (writing on topic) and 1 – 5 sentences that shared our idea.  Ask me how I did.

In word work we continued our work breaking down words and listening for their sounds. By practicing sounds and words we are trying to remember our power words by heart.  When we know them in our heart we can read and write them easily.

In math we talked about the words extend and pattern core.  We worked with partners to extend each others patterns

Ask me what I did during music and phys ed.

In health we talked about being peacemakers at Cranston School.  If someone if bothering you it is okay to say “Stop bothering me!”.  If they don’t stop go find a teacher who can help you solve the problem.

Tomorrow’s Class Leader:  Teagan

See you tomorrow!  J
