We listened to a story called I feel Orange Today by Patricia Godwin.

We had a lesson about being honesty about making mistakes to be able to solve a problem and showing respect for the books and tools in our class.

We ran for the 2016 Cranston Terry Fox Run.

-2 Safety notes coming home today
-Chickadee Magazine offer coming home
-Entertainment Book fundraiser now over, please return coupon book or order
-Terry Fox Run tomorrow at 1:30pm.  Dress for the weather!

Today:
In reading we read to someone (a partner or a book buddy), then read to self.  We talked about reading strategies.  A strategy is something you can do if you don’t know what a word is.  Good readers look at the pictures, point to the words and say the sounds the letters make.

We listened to a story called Jessica by Kevin Henkes and also
Hooray for You! By Marianne Richmond.

In writing we worked hard to complete a piece of work that had a drawing, at least 3 labels and 1 – 5 ideas(sentences).  Ask me what I wrote about.

During word work we listened for the sounds in words to help us spell names.

In math we played Flash It! to learn a mental math strategy.  It is important to recogonize groups of items quickly, then we don’t have to count each item one by one.

Ask me what I did during music.

During Phys Ed we continued our training for the Terry Fox Run.  We did hill sprints!  Remember to dress for the weather for our run tomorrow.

In health we talked about what being a good friend looks like, sounds like and feels like.

Tomorrow’s Class Leader:  Caroline

Mrs Gates from Room 78 will be teaching our class in the morning while Ms MacMillan goes to Teacher School.  See you tomorrow afternoon!
